My first day at Chicago

I planned a trip to Chicago this winter with my friends. It was just a way of getting together after a long time since IIT. We planned to go during Christmas so that we can enjoy all the lighting in the city.

I arrived in Chicago well before any of us arrived i.e. something like 4 hours or so. I had to wait for my friends at the Union Station for that time since the Hotel we booked was a little far away and I thought it will be a good idea to remain there and wait for others. I was tired so I took the necessary sleep I needed. The wait seemed longer than it was, may be because I was eager to go out and explore the city of Chicago. I went out for a few minutes around the station area and took some pictures just to please me. The sun was shining brightly and gave relief from the chilling weather.

The time came and finally I met with my friends and we went out together. The city was looking very beautiful with Christmas trees decorated and lighted all over the place. The shops were looking busy on the eve of Christmas and people were hanging out to have some fun. In the evening after being to the hotel and freshened up, we went to the Devon street, supposed to be the Indian market in Chicago. It really turned out to be more than that. There were Indian shops restaurants all along the street. We had a wonderful food in a hotel there and roamed around looking the place enjoying the company of so many Indians in a different country.

It was 10 pm by the time we realised that we should go back to the hotel if we don't want to walk all the way. So this way our first day at Chicago came to an end.
